I ordered this TV twice in 2 weeks. The first worked for the first time I shot, and died. I could hear the sound, video, no menus on the screen. Spoke with Samsung support, that admission is a defect. Then I found a replacement from Amazon. She had the same problem as the previous date of arrival, only audio, video, no menus on the screen. I will never buy something that is made by Samsung again.

I just bought this TV, plasma TV my trial, after searching on the Consumer Reports (highest score (82) all 50 "plasma discussed by CR) and actually go to Best Buy to create a visual image quality compared against all the others on their television wall. On this basis, the features of this TV, and the price much lower than other LCD displays, in particular other, I made the purchase. Once I was able to create, I was curious to compare the image quality of this TV for my existing 46 "LCD TV Sony KDL-a-46XBR5 – I bought a year and a half. This TV was rated the highest by Consumer Reports, in its screen size of LCD televisions to its output. Consequently, my intention was to compare the 'best of breed' to a certain extent between LCD and plasma TVs. My hope is that the plasma picture quality is good or better than my LCD TV, according to my research, document Samsung CR, and the fact that it was a TV later. In comparison, I went straight to the source the highest quality of Blu-ray and visited the same Blu-ray on the same Blu-ray Oppo BDP-83 Blu-ray Disc Player with SACD and DVD player with the HDMI cable itself, connecting directly to each TV to eliminate the external factors that may influence the comparison. I compared the two major Blu-ray films (An American in Paris & Dr. No) and more recent Blu-ray (Da Vinci Code & Planet Earth). Both televisions have been consulted in the cinema, in the night when the glare of lighting or external factors had no impact on image quality. In each of Blu-ray I looked, I found the Sony KDL-46XBR5 LCD TV has better picture quality. The fundamental difference was the next 3D image quality of LCD to plasma, which was not able to match. You can literally imagine that the action takes place in the next room, with the Blu-ray 1080p LCD picture quality. The plasma, with the same 1080p Blu-ray source, simply does not provide this level of image quality. Both are excellent color, contrast and manage quite well (not without some distortion much lower if you look good), but I discovered that the winner is the LCD TV in terms of image quality. Let me be clear winner, because the difference is clearly visible, which is the comparison that I was not sure if there would be a noticeable difference in terms of image quality between the two TVs. In terms of technical specifications, it is difficult to compare the two technologies (LCD vs. plasma) and in some ways, the comparison may be misleading. For example, the KDL-46XBR5 LCD TV has Motionflow 120Hz for reduced distortion in the display of the movement, while the plasma TV Samsung 600Hz sub-field of technology PN50B650 movement. If you look at the numbers and do not take into account the different technologies, one might think would be a Samsung plasma better treatment. Is not the case. I found no significant difference between the two televisions in this regard. Furthermore, on paper, the contrast ratio of Samsung plasma also seems much higher (2,000,000:1 vs. 18,000:1) in the Sony LCD, but only on paper, though. I found only a slight edge in contrast in favor of Samsung plasma screen, when in fact the picture quality on any TV. In terms of color, the Sony LCD TV is 10-bit processing 'and a 10-bit panel, in addition to the' deep color'and "x. c. color color 'provided by the two televisions. Both have a technology Live Color Creation "(Sony) and" Wide Color Enhancer3 '(Samsung), which seem to be the names of the owners for the same colors as the WCG-CCFL technology. However, I have not noticed any difference in color than the image quality between the two TVs. Have their own processing engine properties that can make a difference in image quality, but it is far from certain that the technical specification or a set of specifications will result in better overall image quality. I want to use the technical specifications for comparing one area only (ie, movement, contrast, color, etc) on technologies such as (for the LCD compared to another or from one plasma to another). By comparing a plasma to an LCD, the technical specifications have no predictive value in my experience, pre-determine the TV has better picture quality, even if they can help reduce the field to a certain degree. In any case, I do not know what technical specification or a set of specifications that indicate TV has better picture quality. I do not know what spec to point to indicate that Sony is almost 3D quality that the Samsung has been perhaps the video processing engine, but I can not understand. Maybe it's just the limitation of the plasma over the LCD. It 'hard to say. I can only say that what I consider one of the best (but not cutting edge) LCD TV has a picture quality better than one of the best (and quite advanced), plasma televisions. Display, even all the TVs in the store Best Buy does not give you a definitive comparison in terms of image quality. The parameters of the television in an electronics store can be set in different ways, and the source player may be different, etc. So, this visual comparison is not definitive. For all the above reasons, a direct comparison is difficult to achieve if you have two TV sets in a controlled environment to see the same exact source of the reader exactly the same with the exact same connection / cable television with similar parameters (in is set to xv Color, the same picture modes (Standard, Dynamic, Cinema) best deal, setting in motion available, etc..) So I found this review can be useful to those looking for a TV the best picture quality. In terms of using any brand, I think it's hard to find the best brand of TV, Sony and Samsung in terms of image quality, features, durability, etc. Personally, I would have the ill look beyond these two brands for a Toshiba or Pioneer sharp, because I think some other brands 'less reliable than the producers of televisions, with a little' more irregular quality of the images in their TV products. Samsung offers a wider product that Sony (Sony plasma mostly) and is generally a bit 'more competitive prices for Sony. Sony does not compete very well with Samsung alone in picture quality when you compare each of their best models of televisions, though. In terms of features, the Samsung is better PN50B650 media / internet connectivity services that have arrived recently and only the most recent Sony LCD TV. It 'also interesting to note that the Sony KDL-46XBR5 is about two times more expensive than Samsung PN50B650. However, this test is a simple comparison of image quality between the best inbred LCD and plasma televisions. I should add that the latest LCD televisions now have the Motionflow 240Hz technology, further reducing the 'factor of blurring' when viewing motion. The Sony KDL-46XBR5 has Icompared Motionflow 120Hz. After my objective comparison, the new Samsung PN50B650 now my plasma TV will be secondary, rather than the TV has been the main is to be. Not want to go unless it fails, because image is very good, but simply is not better than my old LCD. Defending PN50B650 Samsung plasma, however, I must add that I have not (yet) experienced, or "burn-in" or the buzz of the questions that many have complained in plasma TV. I too have not had any problems with screen glare, and the doubt that this is a problem with this TV, even in bright environments. Bottom line, to answer the question "What TV has the best image quality overall best plasma TV or LCD TV better? For me, the answer is clear: the best LCD TVs offer better picture quality of plasma TVs better.

I recently purchased this TV and am very satisfied with the quality and image. Store and Amazon is the best deal on this TV shipped. I initially purchased a PN50B450 @ B & M store locally. after seeing the price on that I went and returned the tv and orderly.

Same as another reviewer stars. TV arrived and activated, but only audio, no video. Samsung has begun the support helpful, but it was more than a month and still no TV. I understand that they want to try the first option less expensive, but their support was lacking. I already bought the Samsung TV with no problems. I would not buy again for their time to make progress and attitudes of their "Customer Service Executive".

The delivery from Amazon has been corrected. Product arrived on time. Boys took over and configure it. Warning: Do not move your old TV. The PN50B650 Samsung: – The video quality is excellent, blacks, accurate color representation. – Filters: Yat-il. Much more than an LCD. Sensible especially if there is a single source of light. Is not a reason to choose the product, but I know there will be. The best PN50B850 touts a glow filter. Are difficult to see in the shops the place where everything is dark. – Audio: After my old faithful Sony Wega XBR CRT, the audio quality, especially the bass is a disappointment. Point of speakers down / up for the highs are a bit 'boring. Deep-Bass there. The PN50B850/860 claims to have a sub-woofer, has not been able to hear the difference in a shop in May, but is a better choice. Obviously, a home theater audio system is necessary. – PIP: Useless alone can prove the antenna input of the PIP. For those with cable, you can not use PIP. If you want real PIP, look more expensive models. – Connecting to the Internet: Do not use the LAN again. The Wi-Fi adapter that goes into the USB port, located on the side of the device. It will be really ugly! – Menu: clear, easy to use. If the only question is boring, even if you do not have a device connected to certain inputs, which still shows in the selection. I just connected the cable and the PS3 really need to switch between them. The menu displays several other leads and turn them. There should be a way to show only active connections in the selection menu. Overall, for the price (paid $ 1150 including shipping) a great value. . .
