50 LCD HD TV

- which tv would you buy? 60 inch plasma or 55 inch led or 60 inch lcd? Will I see a difference?
I'm deciding between 1. LG 1080p 60 inch plasma with 600hz Max sub field driving, 1920x1080 resolution, 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio ($1258) 2. LG 60 inch LCD, full HDTV , 1920x1080 resolution, 120hz, 120,000:1 contrast ratio ($1642) 3. LG 55 inch LED, 1080p, trumotion 120HZ, 1920x1080 resolution, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio ($1466) My brother gets a LG discount and I have the prices up there. I currently have a 50 inch 720p plasma tv now, but I notice that there is blurring during "fast sports" (like hockey, basketball, football) when the action goes back and forth. Most of my TV viewing is HD sports and HD movies, thinking about getting Blu-ray. Just got Directv and I noticed a HUGE difference on my 720p from time warner cable. Which Tv would you recommend and why? Will I really notice a difference in the TV's? thanks!

A Plasma does not have any problems with motion blur on fast action sports or movies, this you will find on LCD and LED tvs. The 120HZ and 240HZ does not eliminate the motion blur blur. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and you can read the reviews on tvs along with the pro and cons of Plasma and LCD/LED tvs. You will notice that Panasonic has a tv recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end. While Samsung, Sony and LG does not, this is the first time (July issue) that LG had a tv in the mid range price. and it is an LED. Price of LED and LCD are still higher than the Plasma. Plasma is still considered to have the best picture quality of all tvs in the market today. Keep in mind that the only source for 1080P is the Blu Ray disc movies and some video games. TV programs in HD are only in the 720P. If you read yahoo question you will notice that 95% of tv problems comes from LCD/LED tvs and 95% of those are off brands. I still have my first Plasma purchased in 2002 (Pioneer 4330 43") and my 32" LCD purchased in 2006 burned out in less than 2 years (Viewsonic). Keep in mind you get what you pay for. i have an lg 50 inch hdtv, bought 2 years ago. the colour has started flickering on it you can see it more with a white or light back ground on the picture. ive tried the telly without anything attached eg sky hd box and dvd player and i have tried it with the dvd player. you can see its deffo the telly so can any1 give me an idea what i need to do? i think its something to do with a board in the back of the telly but not sure thanx debs x how much will it cost to repair? how much will it cost to repair?

A It starts as voltage on pcb board or x board y board there are 3 or 4 boards depending on exact model.I recommend calling support they are bad so be ready for a fight but they have been known to help on occasion.The repair is costly otherwize._-EDIT-_I would argue with support to get a executive customer service agent to offset cost,otherwise it can be approximately 400 to 850 fo0r new parts and labor the service call alone will be around 150-200 bucks.It's worth a shot,I know people who had 4 year old tvs repaire out of warranty free.Hope I helped,I repair all kinds of electronics,everythings different and where you live factors also.Good luck.

i got this 50 inch tv i hooked up my pc on it but i can`t seem to get the sound hooked up with my tv ,i got a 5.1 sound card on my pc but dont know how to get the sound on my plasma tv

A Depends on the TV but most only include a headphone jack for the RGB(Computer) hookup. The alternative is to hook the 5.1 up to the receiver for your sound system. How you hook it up will vary depending on your sound card.

- What would you pay for a working, but cracked 50 inch LG plasma TV?
One of my lovely children chipped the side of our 18 month old, LG plasma TV and it has a crack from the corner almost to the top of the screen and doesn't affect the picture (you can only see it up close). It still works like the day we got it, but we are considering getting a new one and purchasing a screen protector this time. What would you pay for this TV on Craigslist? FYI I live in northern Ohio.

A Nothing. The fact that you don't want it probably means nobody else will. Throw it in the skip. Tellys are that cheap nowadays that most people will have an equal or better one

A no it shouldnt , the xbox was desighned to get the most out of HD tv's. it shouldnt have a problem with ure tv, aslong as the connections are in the correct jack inputs, and that u dont leave the XBOX on and leave ure tv on as it may burn the image into the screen. so aslways turn of either the tv orr the xbox whilst having a game break. OHHH BTW nice TV 600 hzzz plays as smooth as baby skin have a nice day XDDD

A If you need a high performance LCDTV with no issue on budget, i would suggest you to buy a LCDTV with 100Hz/120Hz feature (so call progressive scan). This features is to double the frame rate and you can see the different when an object is moving. You may also asked the seller whether this 100Hz/120Hz feature inclusive of others feature as well such as judder cancellation, Halo free or noise reduction and etc.... You should take note that Plasma and LCD are 2 different tecnology on panel, Plasma give you more brightness and contrast so you may see better details with a new Panasonics Plasma TV(Leader in the market), LCD give you a smooth and relax feeling becuase it brightness is lower and performance is better....However, depend on your flavour .... To select a LCDTV, Samsung launched a LED LCDTV whcih slimmer compare to the conventional LCDTV and come with 100hz/120hz feature(you should ask), Sharp is the leading company in Panel technology but does not mean the performance is the best...this may due to the processor they choose inside the TV. Sony, emmm..good brand and pay more. do you know Sony do not have their own panel factory...However, Sony do have a good picture because of the technology they have in house. For me , I will not buy a 50" LCDTV or Plasma TV. This is because the image or motion on the screen had been modify and it had been upscaled to fit the screen size so this made me feel the people or actor/ress looks funny and bulky.... Is all depend on you.....your money mah... Happy shopping
