50 LCD HD TV

- which tv would you buy? 60 inch plasma or 55 inch led or 60 inch lcd? Will I see a difference?
I'm deciding between 1. LG 1080p 60 inch plasma with 600hz Max sub field driving, 1920x1080 resolution, 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio ($1258) 2. LG 60 inch LCD, full HDTV , 1920x1080 resolution, 120hz, 120,000:1 contrast ratio ($1642) 3. LG 55 inch LED, 1080p, trumotion 120HZ, 1920x1080 resolution, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio ($1466) My brother gets a LG discount and I have the prices up there. I currently have a 50 inch 720p plasma tv now, but I notice that there is blurring during "fast sports" (like hockey, basketball, football) when the action goes back and forth. Most of my TV viewing is HD sports and HD movies, thinking about getting Blu-ray. Just got Directv and I noticed a HUGE difference on my 720p from time warner cable. Which Tv would you recommend and why? Will I really notice a difference in the TV's? thanks!

A Plasma does not have any problems with motion blur on fast action sports or movies, this you will find on LCD and LED tvs. The 120HZ and 240HZ does not eliminate the motion blur blur. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and you can read the reviews on tvs along with the pro and cons of Plasma and LCD/LED tvs. You will notice that Panasonic has a tv recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end. While Samsung, Sony and LG does not, this is the first time (July issue) that LG had a tv in the mid range price. and it is an LED. Price of LED and LCD are still higher than the Plasma. Plasma is still considered to have the best picture quality of all tvs in the market today. Keep in mind that the only source for 1080P is the Blu Ray disc movies and some video games. TV programs in HD are only in the 720P. If you read yahoo question you will notice that 95% of tv problems comes from LCD/LED tvs and 95% of those are off brands. I still have my first Plasma purchased in 2002 (Pioneer 4330 43") and my 32" LCD purchased in 2006 burned out in less than 2 years (Viewsonic). Keep in mind you get what you pay for. LG 42 inch 1080p LCD vs a 50 inch 720p plasma tv....whos the winner here? 1080p (4 ms) not an LED type -- offfers higher resolution, but the colors arent as great and may cause slight motion blurr plasma offers smoother motion flow, and richer colors but at the cost of being 720p. i will run my 360 thru hdmi and also be getting a blu-ray player, both capable and looks fantastic on 1080p. tought call....both are the same price, 42 inch vs 50 inch. plasma or lcd. also, the LCD has VGA input, 4 hdmi inputs, a usb port (not sure what id use it for) plasma has 2 hdmi, no vga, no usb. ive *heard* the burn in time on plasma tvs has increased a great deal as opposed to the earlier versions happening within 30 mins....not sure how accurate that is.

A Depends on the TV but most only include a headphone jack for the RGB(Computer) hookup. The alternative is to hook the 5.1 up to the receiver for your sound system. How you hook it up will vary depending on your sound card.

One of my lovely children chipped the side of our 18 month old, LG plasma TV and it has a crack from the corner almost to the top of the screen and doesn't affect the picture (you can only see it up close). It still works like the day we got it, but we are considering getting a new one and purchasing a screen protector this time. What would you pay for this TV on Craigslist? A If you ask for monitor cable they'll give it to you . But your best bet is to bring your laptop with you and show the guys at the store. Then they'll give you whatever you need.

A All these idiots that say plasma burns out and suck still believe in the Easter bunny, Just so you know it was a panasonic 3D plasma that won best TV of 2010 and best picture at CES so don't listen to the first 2 idiots. Personally I would go with the LG one, it's also full HD but has very good reviews and it's bigger than the Samsung. If you can find the Panasonic VT20 or VT25 3D plasma's, those are the best TV's for 3d and high def picture, if not the LG would be my second choice. I hate the LED or LCD people who know nothing about todays plasma's, they don't even know that a LED is the same as a LCD with same picture, The only way for a LED to have those higher contrasts and better picture are the full matrix LED's with Local dimming and a 50 inch 3D full matrix LED would still not have as good picture as plasma and cost twice as much. Go for Panasonics 3DTV or the LG 3DTV Plasma's. I own a plasma and have gotten no such burn even after 8 hours falling asleep with a TLC logo, not even retention which is the worst you would get with todays plasmas and you can wash it away with screensavors.
